It's a 70's London Glamour Takeover!

by L’Taundra Everhart

Think Veronica Lake, finger waves and all. This year’s Fall/Winter trends lay claim to the charm and extravagance of yesteryear - pencil waistlines for the full-figured and oversized baggy wear for those in need of curves. It won't be hard to be the show-stopping diva in snow white, curry, ruby red, purple or sapphire blue. Hemlines are just below the knee and skirts are tapered with a slim belt. Look for feminine blouses with more pleats and puffs on the sleeves and mid- to high-heeled shoes. Accessories include chiffon and velvet wraps, bags encrusted with multicolored crystals and gems. Other accessories, including shoes and handbags, are in white gold, gunmetal, bronze, animal prints and patent leather. Oversized cocktail rings and earrings are essential. For those colder days, the whole look can be finished off with a cape style or a shorter length overcoat tied at the waist with a broad belt or giant buttons. Houndstooth prints have also been spotted in this season’s couture roster.
